Garbage PickUp Schedule in the Birmingham Alabama Area

I never seem to know the garbage pick up schedule around the Christmas and New Years holiday...so I thought I'd check with area cities for 2010 service and let you know. At Champion Cleaners, we deliver a lot more than just dry cleaning and laundry...just not the garbage!

With Christmas and New Years being on Saturday this year, several area cities will have no change in service.  But some do.  So here is my run down for you:

Birmingham - The City of Birmingham, Alabama is closed on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, Monday, Dec. 27, and Friday Dec.30.  There will be no garbage service on those days and no makeup service on other days. 35213, 35205

Vestavia Hills - There is no change in service in 2010 in Vestavia for either the Christmas or New Years holiday.  Garbage pick up will take place on the regular schedule all week. 35243,035216

Hoover - There is no change in service in 2010 in Hoover for either the Christmas or New Years holiday.  Garbage pick up will take place on the regular schedule all week. 35242, 35244, 35216

Mountain Brook - There is no change in service in 2010 in Mountain Brook for either the Christmas or New Years holiday.  Garbage pick up will take place on the regular schedule all week. 35213, 35223, 35253

Pelham - There is no change in service in 2010 in Pelham for either the Christmas or New Years holiday.  Garbage pick up will take place on the regular schedule all week. 35124

Homewood - The Homewood schedule is a little more difficult to explain.  Service on Friday, Dec, 24, 2010 will take place on Thursday, Dec. 23.  Service on Monday, Dec. 27 will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 28.  And service usually on Tuesday, Dec 28 will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 29. I tried to get the schedule for the New Years holiday - but the person I talked to did not know the schedule and apparently only one person in that department in Homewood knows the schedule and he wasn't in when I called. 35209,35219, 35259

Calera - The normal once a week service in Calera, Alabama is on Thursday.  For Christmas week, garbage service will be on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010. 35040

Chelsea - There is no change in service in 2010 in Chelsea, Alabama for either the Christmas or New Years holidays.  Garbage pick up will take place on the regular schedule both weeks before and after Christmas. 35043
